WOMEN'S MARCH-

On October 4, 1789, a crowd of women marched to Versailles demanding bread for thier families. The king decided to meet with some of the women and decided to distribute bread to the crowd in Versailles. The Nation Guard showed up and wanted to take the king back to Paris, that made it difficult for the king. The hungry crowd broke into the queen's quarters and Maria Antoinette escaped by a secret passage. Most of the crowd blammed Maria Antoinette for the lack of bread. The king adressed the crowd from his balcon, telling them that he will go to Paris with his wife and children. It turned out to be a fatal mistake and the king never saw Versailles again. The crowd of women never received the bread that they were promised.
